Walter Stephen "Steve" Buchinski passed away June 15, 2023. Steve was born to the late Walter and Elizabeth Buchinski on July 30, 1954 in Herkimer, NY.

Steve loved collecting baseball cards, coins, and comic books. He was a fan of the outdoors and frequently spent time camping in the Adirondacks with his children, rain or shine, when they were young. He was also an animal lover who has had, over the years, cats, dogs, rodents, and a trantula. He dedicated his life to serving his clients with over 20 years of commitment during his work at the Rescue Mission in Utica. Steve was a man who stood firm in his beliefs and left a unique impact on all those he met. Someone like him will only ever live once and he'll always be remembered.

Steve is survived by his children: Eric (Monique), Patrick (Jennifer), Martha (Timothy), and Elizabeth (Thomas). He had 8 grandchildren: Trevor, Natalie, Arthur, Indy, Bennett, Isaak, Harlow, and Isla. He is also survived by his brothers Ronald (Patricia), Michael (Patricia) and his long term partner, Laurie.

He will Rest In Peace near his parents at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox cemetery in Herkimer.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of his family.
