We shared our trip to Palm Springs to celebrate his 70th birthday in 2019, his sixth months at my house at the onset of COVID, our trip to Savannah in2021, when we bought the condo, one of his happy places!
Walter was our minister at Hartland Methodist in Gasport New York. He started our youth group . It was awesome . We all car pooled to Rochester for conference with 16 youth . Two car loads. As we are driving I notice our youth were writing messages on our windows . His group wrote help on his windows and mine was help now. I guess we were lucky we weren’t stopped 😂😂
Brother Walter, as I usually call him, gave me an inspiring piece of advice on retirement a few weeks before he passed on to glory. The memories of his caring voice and compassionate heart with which he spoke to me will be cherished. His extended family in Winneba, Ghana where he sponsored several schoolchildren will remember the generosity and love he brought into the community. Rest in peace, my brother. You Are Loved.
What a joy to know and be in Walter’s presence. His smile filled the spaces we shared during WNY annual conference and Buffalo district UMC gathers. I loved reading about his travels and all the ways he shared God’s light and love with those he met! You will be missed.
Walter confirmed my daughter at Lincoln Memorial United Methodist Church in Buffalo, NY. He had a wonderful relationship with our young people and continued to keep in touch with a number of them up until his passing.

This is where my Reed family met Walter. He adopted his son while here in Gasport and we bonded very close . Many laughs and a great minister to young and old . Definitely my favorite 🙏
I was so SAD when I heard the news of Walter's passing. He was My Pastor at Grace St Albans UMC in Queens NY. HE WAS MARVELOUS... MAY HE REST IN POWER.
Walter was a wonderful Pastor and friend. He shared the Love of God with everyone he met. He loved life and lived his to the fullest! Rest well, my dear friend. You will be greatly missed.
Enjoyed lunch with Walter and John in Vero Beach as they journeyed throughout Florida. Walter was a clergy colleague from NY. We stayed connected over the last couple of years. His pictures and memories on Facebook were so uplifting. I will miss his presence.
