Wade's obituary

Wade Kenneth Halvorson III

July 8, 1965 – August 24, 2025

Wade Kenneth Halvorson III (aka “V”), age 60, of Waconia, Minnesota, passed away on August 24, 2025.

Wade was born on July 8, 1965, in Fort Collins, Colorado, to Wade Kenneth Halvorson Jr. and Sandra Huffman Halvorson. He will be remembered as a man of kindness, gentleness, unwavering generosity, and having an adventurous spirit. Many described Wade as the kindest, most hard-working person they had ever known– always uplifting, supportive, and ready to help without hesitation.

Wade had a great sense of humor and a gift for making people feel seen and valued. A true people person, he touched countless lives with his compassion and encouragement. He considered himself blessed to have five wonderful children, great friends and a church family. Wade loved his five children and took joy in supporting their passions. He was also a proud grandpa to Emilia Halvorson.

He loved fishing, found peace in the Black Hills of South Dakota, and shared a special bond with his children through their love of Star Wars. Wade’s passion for helping others and his devotion to family, friends and God made him a friend to many and a source of strength to all who knew him.

He is lovingly remembered by his children Cara Halvorson, Reid Halvorson (Laura), Benjamin Halvorson, Gabriel Halvorson and Wade Kenneth Halvorson IV; granddaughter Emilia Halvorson; mother, Sandra Huffman Halvorson; sister Kathleen Deis (Dan); nieces and nephew, Emily Fleig (Ryan), Allie Pavlak (Jake), Mayme Deis and Daniel Deis; aunt, Pat Halvorson; cousins; and former wife, Barb McGowen.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Julie Anne Halvorson; father, Wade Kenneth Halvorson Jr.; and uncle, John Halvorson.

He will be forever cherished and deeply missed.

A service to honor Wade’s life will be held at 11:00am on August 30th, 2025 at Grace Bible Church in Silver Lake, Minnesota. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30am-11:00am. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate his life. Guests are welcome to dress casually.
