Vivianne's obituary

Vivianne Green-Turner was born on March 2, 1968, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah Green. From the very beginning, she carried a light within her—a warmth that would touch everyone she met.

She confessed Christ in 1981 and was baptized under the leadership of the late Rev. Roosevelt William at Friendship Baptist Church in Tallulah, Louisiana. Her faith was the quiet compass of her life, guiding her love, her generosity, and the grace she shared so freely.

Vivianne’s journey took her from Wright Elementary to McCall Senior High, where she graduated with the Class of 1986, and onward to the University of Houston, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in English in 1991. Ever curious, ever thoughtful, she carried a love of learning that mirrored the care she brought to all her relationships.

Family and connection were her heart’s true home. She delighted in time spent with those she loved and found joy in life’s simple pleasures—including cheering for her beloved Dallas Cowboys, a passion that led her to meet her future husband, Tony Turner, at a game in 2001. The couple married in 2003, and though she never had children of her own, she poured her love into Toni Turner, Tessa Turner, and Tracee Turner, embracing them with the depth of a mother’s heart. Her grandchildren—R’Mani Piper, Vanessa Turner, Noah Brown, and Blaze Brown—were a constant source of joy, and she delighted in them fully, in laughter and pride.

There are souls who change the world simply by being in it, and Vivianne was one of those rare souls. She had a way of making ordinary moments shine—through a story shared at the dinner table, a call to check in, a smile that could lift the heaviest heart. Gentle yet strong, funny yet wise, stubborn yet endlessly caring, she gave of herself freely, and in doing so, she left footprints on every heart she touched.

Vivianne lived her life guided by faith, family, love, and service. To her family, she was a devoted wife, loving sister, and proud grandmother. To her friends, she was a constant source of comfort and joy. And to everyone who knew her, she made the world feel brighter, warmer, and richer for her presence.

We will miss her in quiet moments—the calls we can no longer make, the laughter we long to hear again, the comforting presence we can no longer feel. And yet, she lives on—in the stories we share, the lessons she taught, the love she gave, and the memories that will never fade.

She is survived by her husband, Tony Turner, children, Toni Turner, Tessa Turner, and Tracee Turner as well as her grandchildren, R'Mani Piper, Vanessa Turner, Noah Brown, and Blaze Brown.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the time we had with Vivianne. Her life was a gift, and their love is a legacy that will live on in all of us.
