Vivian's obituary
A devout Woman-of-God, Vivian Kim Woolbright (née Pollard) was born in Melville, LA, on January 5, 1942, to Mr. Ned and Mrs. Alma Pollard. After a brief illness, she departed her earthly life on March 19, 2026.
Although born in Louisiana, Vivian spent her youth and adulthood in and around the San Francisco Bay Area. During her first marriage to Willie E. Hendricks, Vivian’s life was forever changed with the birth of her son, Kimani E. Hendricks. Providing for Kimani was first and foremost in her life, and she remained a loving, nurturing, and devoted mother to him until her death. Vivian was also blessed with grandchildren John, Keymonte, Krystal, Jalin, Deondre, Nzuri, Kristopher, Ki’ari, Kai’ree, Vivianna, and Aminah, and great-grandchildren, Kaliyah and Aitana Hendricks and Krystal Serti. Her close relationship with each kept her youthful and brought continuous joy to her heart.
After high school, Vivian enrolled at the Alameda County School of Cosmetology, where she obtained a license as a Certified Cosmetologist. Vivian also received extensive training in welding and electronic repairs in her early adulthood and worked in both industries for several years. In her later years, Vivian worked as a Recruiting Specialist with Manpower, and until her recent illness, she was a Flooring Specialist at the Lowe’s Home Improvement Store #1043 located in Antioch. As a Senior Sales Specialist at Lowe’s, Vivian was inducted into the Million Dollar Sales Club, an accomplishment achieved by only a few career sales associates.
Vivian’s love of the Lord was apparent to those who knew her as well as to anyone she encountered. Her faith in God and commitment to living according to His Word, served as an example for her children, grandchildren, family, and loved ones to live by. She was the spiritual rock upon which her family was built, and despite facing many trials and tribulations in life, her faith in the Lord NEVER wavered. For several years, she led a team of approximately thirty fellow-Christians in a daily devotional honoring the Lord, and she was also an active member of The Rock Church located in Antioch. Vivian will always be remembered as a “Powerhouse” for the Lord.
Our Beloved was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Woolbright; her parents, Ned and Alma Pollard; and her brothers, Gilbert (Jackie), Ned Jr., Herman, and Donald. She is survived by her son, Kimani Hendricks (Temina), brothers Albert Pollard (Patricia), Monroe (Lonnell) Oakley (Brenda), and Eric Oakley, sisters Rose Mathis, Sharlene Newman (Kirland), Thresser Pennington, and Ann Gaines, and her companion of several years, Nick Compilli.
She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, cousins, stepchildren, in-laws, godsons and goddaughters, a treasured goddaughter, Leslie (Bae) Mitchell, her New Destiny Church family, The Rock Church family, her Lowe’s family, a host of wonderful, loving friends, and Scooter, her canine companion.
Vivian’s life was a testament to faith, family, love, and grace. Her kindness touched many; her strength inspired those around her, and her memory will continue to shine as a guiding light in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
