Vivian's obituary
Vivian Eileen Price, age 77, passed away gracefully on June 8, 2025, in Tucson, AZ. Born on October 23, 1947, in Cincinnati, OH, to her parents, William Budd Stephenson Jr. and Virginia Stephenson nee Kilian. Vivian was a beacon of joy, spirit, and an avid lover of nature throughout her life. Vivian's unconventional spirit led her to forge her own path in all walks of life. She worked diligently as a school bus driver, saving to put herself through college and earn her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification. She went on to provide compassionate care as a Psychiatric Nurse at the Arizona Children's Home and the Veterans Affairs (VA) hospital. Her fiery spirit led her to become the first female at her high school to swim freestyle, a style considered too difficult for women at the time. She continued her love for swimming throughout her life, along with her passion for gardening, bird watching, especially hummingbirds, and the ancient Japanese healing art of Jin Shin Jyutsu.
Vivian's joyous nature and adventurous spirit were infectious, creating a radiant atmosphere around her that touched everyone she met. Her deep spirituality and caregiving nature were evident in her professional and personal life. She was a devoted mother, an adoring grandmother, and a loyal companion, spreading love and kindness wherever she went. Vivian is preceded in death by her father, William Budd Stephenson Jr.; her mother, Virginia Stephenson nee Kilian; her brothers, William Budd Stephenson, III and Jarrett Edward Stephenson; and her sister, Julie Nell Schueler. She is survived by her daughters, Zoe Woodman and Atreya Price; her grandchildren, Asher and Lachlan Woodman; her ex-husband, Gary Price and her longtime companion, Hugh Frasier.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday June 20, 2025 at East Lawn Palms chapel, 5801 E Grant Rd, Tucson, AZ, at 3 PM. We are creating a memorial garden in honor of Vivian’s love for hummingbirds, flowers, and time spent outdoors. In place of cut flowers, we welcome your support of this living tribute. Vivian's life was a testament to her strength, perseverance, and unwavering spirit. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
