Vito Picca passed away on his 96th birthday, May 5th, 2024, at Verdun Hospital. Preceded in death by his wife Anna Turani and siblings, he is survived by his children Ida Picca-Caracristi (Enrico Caracristi) and Davide Picca (Julie Bernier), grandchildren Mattea, Massimo, Roman, and Amelia, as well as cherished cousins David Picca (Barbara), Lorenzo, and Luca.

Born in Cervinara, Italy on May 5th, 1928, Vito was a skilled gardener from his upbringing on a farm, generously sharing his harvest and knowledge. His journey led him to Canada where he met Anna Turani, and their marriage lasted over 60 years. A diligent worker, Vito adapted to various jobs, primarily with the STM, improving his French and English along the way.

The family extends gratitude to the staff at Verdun Hospital for their exceptional care. Funeral services will be held at Yves Légaré Complexes Funéraires, 7200 LaSalle Blvd, on Friday, May 17th, with viewing from 12:00 to 13:00 and the ceremony from 13:00 to 13:30. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation are appreciated.
