Virginia's obituary
“Virg” was born to Archie O. Neal and Marion J. Lider Neal and spent her childhood years mostly around Bremerton WA, with some time in South San Francisco, CA. She graduated from Bremerton High School, then married her husband, John D. Nichols of Nampa ID, in 1956. John and Virginia lived the remainder of their lives in western Washington around Tacoma, Belfair, Bremerton and Poulsbo.
Virginia worked alongside her husband and co-owner of the Allyn Grocery and Feed store for many years, then as a clerk at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and McChord Air Force Base commissaries.
She most enjoyed being in the presence of family. She faithfully and lovingly cared for foster children before raising three of her own, then for her mother in her elder years and for her seven grandchildren to the best of her ability. She was an inspiration to us in how she could offer a joyful disposition even in challenging times. We saw her off with heavy hearts, but trust that she has found peace and we will remain forever grateful for all the ways in which she touched our lives.
She was preceded in death by John. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Guabatz, her children, Carla Junell, Robb and Tim, and her seven grandchildren.
She will be laid to rest next to John among a small family gathering. Memorial donations can be made to Treehouse (foster care) or the American Cancer Society.
