Virginia "Gin" Masterson, known with affection as Gin to her friends and family, but always preferring Virginia, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025. Born on August 5, 1942, Virginia lived a fulfilling life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering spirit of generosity that will forever endure in the hearts of those who knew her.
Virginia leaves behind a legacy through her loving family. She is survived by her daughter, Coleen Masterson, son, Bruce Masterson and daughter, Cynthia Miller. Her memory will continue to live through her grandchildren; Daren Labianco, Nicole Wright, John Masterson, Stephanie Waters, Michelle Lopez, Brandie Krone, Lexi Waters, Aubrey Crespin and Adriana Crespin; all of whom she loved and cared for deeply.
A fan of diverse music, Virginia had an eclectic taste ranging from The Beatles to Bruce Springsteen to Aerosmith. Her favorite movie, 'Who framed Roger Rabbit', often left her filled with joy and laughter. She was a loyal supporter of her favorite sports teams – Mets, Giants, Knicks and regularly enjoyed playing Scrabble and Yahtzee.
Virginia found peace in her recreational activities like knitting and taking long walks; they served as a testament to her calm and serene nature. She had great fondness for vacationing in Florida and Wildwood, where she spent memorable times with her loved ones.
Her love for animals was reflected in her dedicated support for ASPCA. Virginia had a unique personality filled with warmth and humor which touched everyone around her. She was welcoming, funny and outgoing, lighting up any room she entered. Her favorite color, blue, was a representation of her own personality – calm, cool and collected.
Amongst her many accomplishments, one that she held dear was seeing her great-granddaughter graduating from high school. Virginia's legacy of kindness and generosity will forever remain as a beacon of hope, encouragement and love. She will be greatly missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have known her.
