Virginia's obituary
Virginia was a caring, nurturing person, a mother to all. Taking in those in need and caring for those who could not care for themselves, her home was always open. Virginia was also involved in caring for and sponsored the elderly befriending them, inclusive to family. She had a great gratitude for life.
In retirement Virginia moved to Florida living in Winter Haven, Belleair Beach and then Randolph Farms in Largo where she was a member of St. Cecilia and St. Patrick Parishes. While in retirement she actively promoted the Pro-life message by supporting Knights of Columbus Pro-Life poster contests among elementary and middle school students at St. Patrick’s Parish (Largo, Florida) via Knights of Columbus . Virginia also assembled over 55,000 Rosaries free for those in prison, serving in the US military and for Catholic missionaries overseas.
During her last weeks Virginia told her daughter “When I look at my life as a whole, and compare the good with the bad, there has been much more good than bad.”
Virginia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Timothy & Theresa Burgess of Mobile AL, daughter Lynne-Marie Burgess-Axiak of Manchester CT, a son and daughter in law Christopher & Lucy Burgess of Cromwell CT, and a daughter and son-in-law Ginger and Frank Burgess Patrick of Manchester, TN. Mig's grandchildren include Elizabeth Burgess Cornelson, Jennifer Burgess Johnson, Luke Burgess, Grace Burgess Reynolds, Clare Burgess, Rebekah Burgess, Maureen Axiak Ringrose, Peter Axiak, Michael Axiak, Joseph Axiak , David Christopher Burgess, Monica Burgess, Jeffrey Burgess, Charles Kusiak, Ben Patrick, Theresa Burgess, David Andrew Sanville, Jessica Sanville, many great grandchildren (23+), a great great granddaughter, a sister Maureen Moore Pallotti of Windsor, a brother William Moore of Manchester, dearest childhood and lifelong friend Margaret White Downey, many nieces, many nephews and numerous step children. All loved Virginia who also cherished us all. Her greatest wish was that people who knew her also knew they were loved by her. Forgiveness is always and love prevails.
Mig was married in the Catholic Church 3 times and widowed 3 times. She is predeceased by her first husband of 32 years Eldred C. Burgess (1933-1987). Her second husband of 2 years was Jack Wagner (1923-1993). Her third husband of 24 years was Fiore Bronga (1925-2018). Virginia is predeceased by a daughter Maureen Burgess Kusiak (1960-2010), a grandson Shane Patrick (1990-2019) and most recently her youngest daughter Bonnie Burgess Martin (1964-2020) .
