Ginny's obituary

Virginia Reed Atamian, 94, of Boca Raton, FL and North Falmouth, MA, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on June 19, 2024.

Virginia was born February 19, 1930 in Norwood, MA to Eva (Sherman) and Willard Reed. She was an only child.

Virginia, affectionately known as Ginny, was predeceased by her husband Robert Atamian. Robert and Ginny were married in 1949, settled in Uxbridge, MA and had 4 children.

She is survived by her two sons Robert Atamian of Hopedale, MA and Reed Atamian of Lighthouse Point, FL.

Her two grandchildren, Benjamin Atamian and his wife Sarah of Lowell, MA and Abigail (Atamian) Flakes and her husband Phil of San Diego, CA.

Her 4 great grandchildren, Beckett and Kasch Atamian and Wesley and Parker Flakes.

Virginia was predeceased by her two daughters Ginger Atamian (d-1988) and Robyn Atamian (d-2020).

Ginny, a beloved mother and wife, was a homemaker who raised her children and made a loving home for her family.

Ginny and Bob would retire to Florida for the winters and return to their family home of over 70 years on Cape Cod for the summer.  Ginny was able to do this year after year until her death.

Ginny was a fierce and loyal friend, constantly willing to entertain, regularly cooking, or dancing and had an endless seat at the card table.  She was a lover of travel, traveling all over the world with Robert seeing and becoming immersed in each culture she would visit.  Always returning to her endless love of Cape Cod and the glorious sea breeze.  She was a devoted reader, a lifelong learner and avid card player.   Ahead of every style trend, she was polished and sophisticated.

Virginia, Ginny, was called many things in her life.  Mom, Sister in Law, Auntie, Friend, Gram and Great Gram perhaps this being her favorite name.  The absolute loves of her life until the day she died were her 4 great grand sons; Beckett, Kasch, Wesley and Parker.  She followed their every move, whether it be in person, through pictures, videos or phone calls.  They adored their great gram whether that be visiting her in Florida or on Cape Cod.  She will be forever loved and adored by her family.

The Atamian Family would like to thank Falmouth Hospital for the heartfelt care they provided Ginny on her last days.  Also to Neptune Cremation Service and Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home for assistance in providing the final arrangements.
