Viola (Ripani) Weyrauch

Born: January 10, 1933 in Forest Park, IL

Died: September 5, 2024 in Mesa, AZ

Vi Weyrauch passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family in Mesa, Arizona on September 5, 2024 at the age of 91.

Viola was born at home in Forest Park, IL on January 10, 1933 to Umberto and Rose (LaPaglia) Ripani who immigrated to the United States from Italy.

On January 27, 1951 she was united in marriage to Donald Weyrauch of Des Plaines, Illinois. They were married for 59 years until Donald's passing in 2010. She often spoke about the time they spent in Panama during the Korean War.

In December of 1954 Viola and Donald moved to Crystal Lake, Illinois. Viola remained in the same house where she and Don raised all five of their children for 64 years until she moved to Arizona in 2018.

Viola was an entrepreneur. In the early 1960's started her own cleaning business. She was a housekeeper for many loving families in Crystal Lake and the surrounding areas including Saint Thomas Rectory for nearly 40 years. She had a strong work ethic, which she instilled in her children.

Viola was proud of her Italian Sicilian heritage. No one ever went away hungry and there was always a pot of coffee brewing. Her pizza and cannolis were enjoyed by many friends, family members, and neighbors. The door was always open no matter the time of day or night. She enjoyed spending time at Arrowhead Campground at her trailer with all her friends that quickly became family.

Vi never met a stranger. Throughout her travels and ventures she would talk to anyone and everyone. She had the gift to gab.

Viola had a strong Catholic faith that she lived by.

She is survived by her five children, Don (Pam) Weyrauch, Diane (Tim) Abney, Denise duChemin (Chris), Debbie (Steve) Golbeck, Danette (Stan) Ross; 18 grandchildren, Julie (Scott), Justin, Jayme, Joel (Sammi), Jessica, Blaine (Will), Bill, Amanda (Mike), Matt (Beth), Steven, Nick (Beth), Emily (Justin), Ryan (Joe), Kaylee (Tim), Abby (John), Joe and Ben; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter due in November; siblings, Ann Stawarski, Rosemary Thelen, Al Ripani; sisters- and brothers- in-law, Robert Weyrauch, Karen Kasper, Gayle Stoller and Ardie Weyrauch. Along with many loving nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

Interment will be announced at a later date where she will join her husband in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
