Happy Birthday, Shep!  I still miss you.  Dru and I were just talking about you at Apple Mountain the other day when we golfed.  We decided we're gonna throw one of each other's clubs in the forest from now on to commemorate the time you threw your roommate's entire set into the forest on the last day on the 10th hole back at the beginning of the millennium.  Thanks for all the laughs and cries we shared while you were here among us in your own unique form.  Much love, brother!  

I was [ so heartbroken and felt]sorrow at a loss of words .I was in shock when I heard the news of Vinson's passing.   ayle is my best friend & I want to be there for support & to give love & hugs. I  met him Derek  almost 30 yrs ago at Gayle house.I loved his humor, always laughing   and  riding his bike . He loved exercising & being outdoors,,& Rafting  ,he was the life of he party. I am gonna miss him dearly. Proud to have got  to be a part of his  life. He had a lot of talents , always building or fixing or creating a project to do.R.I.P. God Bless my friend till we meet again in heaven

Nick Shelley here. It's November 2nd and I just heard. Gosh darn it. I figured the day would come. Just wish it didn't have to. I'll say what I've said many times. Derek is a lot. I know. But he is one of the genuinely loving people I've had the honor of calling my friend. We like each other very much. I'll think of Derek (and quote him) for all my days.

I go back to that first year out here, his and mine. We listened to music, smoked and drank when we could afford to. I taught him "Mood For A Day" by Yes on guitar, after he asked me to. We did lots of fun things, concerts, sailing, a lot of yacking and laughing. Bye D, we'll catch up.
