Background
A husband, a father, a brother, a son, a colleague. There are many terms to describe Vinod. Kind words, big smile, thoughtful conversation, a good and sincere listener, an adventurer.
Born in 1968, in India, Vinod was educated along with his sister, Renu, and his brother Rana. He moved to the US in 1987 and joined his Uncle Bobby originally in Seattle, before moving to southern California.
Vinod's career led him through the ranks up to a number of executive positions in the mortgage banking industry, and led him to something even more important—meeting his wife Joy.
His coworkers could see a real difference in his demeanor after the day he and Joy began dating. It didn't take them long before they both knew they’d found “the one" - they were married May 2007 in Laguna Beach, California. Vinod and Joy celebrated their wedding with Vinod's family in Kochi, India and then honeymooned in Bali, Indonesia, beginning their lifelong passion of traveling the world together.
In 2013, they were blessed with twins, Abraham(Abe) and Alexandra(Alexa) on June 5 while they were living and working in Dayton, Ohio. The family moved subsequently to Dallas, back to Southern California, Atlanta and Greenville, South Carolina, where Vinod was Chief Servicing Officer for Lima One Capital.
The family passion is world travel. They were excited for any chance to add in new places and experiences . In addition to traveling to visit Vinod's father in India and both their families across the U.S., the family has traveled extensively through the Americas, Caribbean, Europe - the kids have been to over a dozen countries, at age 10!! Travel brought out the best versions of all four of them and built a shared love of new experiences.
Joy, Vinod's wife, is dedicated not only to keeping the memory of Vinod alive for her children, by continuing to show them the world as he planned to and minimizing the changes to their lives as much she can.
In honor of Vinod’s legacy, we are setting up a fund to assist with the children's education, either formally for higher education or potentially informally through travel and experiences as Vinod and Joy have while Vinod was alive. Vinod’s light will continue to shine through the many lives he touched, forever remembered with love and respect. Contribute
