Vincenzo's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Vincenzo "Enzo" Civitillo on February 20th, 2025. Born on March 28th, 1950, Vincenzo was a dedicated father, loving husband, and a kind-hearted gentleman. He is survived by his cherished daughters, Lisa Blok and Sandra Civitillo. He also leaves behind his son in laws Hendrik Blok and Peter Gilmore, three grandsons Jonathan, Matteo and Ethan. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Carole Carrière.
Vincenzo, who most affectionately knew him as Enzo, held a great passion for cooking, gardening, and inviting others to share in his homemade meals. A brilliant cook, his Pasta e Fagioli and steak dinners left everyone asking for more. His appreciation for comfort food extended to his favorite local spots, including Alfa restaurant and Jacques Cartier Pizza. Those close to Vincenzo would remember his favorite drinks, which ranged from a classic Gin and tonic to wine and beer, depending on the occasion.
Music was a big part of Vincenzo's life. He loved listening to Eros Ramazzotti, Adriano Celentano, CCR, and the Beatles. He enjoyed both Italian and English music that could always be heard in the background of his bustling kitchen. A loyal Hockey Canadiens fan, Vincenzo found joy in watching the games and even participating in his favorite game, Scopa.
Enzo was a quiet man, but those who were privileged enough to get close to him knew the depth of his generosity and kindness. He would lend a helping hand readily and believed in helping others in need the best way one can - by sharing food and lending an ear. This lesson he passed to those around him will live on in their actions.
Vincenzo's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. He will be greatly missed, but his spirit will live on in all the lives he touched. His love for life, his warmth, and his readiness to help others are the legacy that he leaves behind.
