Vincent's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Vincent "Shorty" Troiano, who left us on August 11, 2025. Shorty, as he was affectionately known by his loved ones, was born on March 2, 1935, and throughout his life, charted a course characterized by loyalty, love, and a sense of humor that could light up any room.
A devoted fan of the Yankees, Shorty enjoyed cheering on his favorite sports team with fervor and enthusiasm. But it wasn't all about sports for him. Shorty found joy and solace in nature. He was an active man who loved outdoor pursuits, particularly fishing and hunting. And when he wasn't basking in the great outdoors, Shorty could be found in the kitchen, where he entertained and delighted family and friends with his exceptional culinary skills.
His favorite beverage was Busch, a preference that, in many ways, encapsulated his straightforward and unpretentious personality. Shorty was a man of simple tastes, who valued the genuine over the superficial, and who always sought to find and celebrate the extraordinary in the ordinary.
Shorty leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. His greatest pride and joy was his family, particularly his granddaughter, Mar Santos, who survives him grandson Jorge santos and 5 great grandchildren . His loved ones remember him as a man who was fiercely loyal, affectionately loving, and unabashedly funny. He brought warmth, joy, and comfort to the lives of those around him, and it is this beautiful legacy that he leaves behind.
In the face of this loss, we find solace in the memories shared with Shorty. His spirit imbued every aspect of his life and touched everyone he met. And while he may have left this world, his legacy remains a testament to a life well-lived, and serves as an inspiration for us all. Rest in peace, Shorty. You will be greatly missed.
