Vicki's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Victoria "Vicki" Morton. Born in 1938, Vicki departed this life on March 2nd, 2024. Cherished mother of Matt and Eve Morton, Vicki was a pillar of strength, kindness, and grace in their lives. Vicki is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Becky L. Morton, and five grandchildren.
Vicki was predeceased by her mother, Lucille Fisher and her beloved husband, Gene Morton. Vicki's unwavering spirit and benevolent personality was a testament to her husband's memory, and she continued to live her life with the generosity and kindness he had bestowed upon her.
A devoted lover of British television shows, Vicki found joy in the intricate narratives and engaging characters. An avid reader, she loved immersing herself in the books of C.J. Box. Music had a special place in her heart, with White Snake and U2 being her favorites. Always eager to dive into a good book, this passion remained her favorite recreational activity.
Her personality was best described as generous, kind, and friendly. Vicki had an open heart and was always ready to lend a helping hand. One of Vicki's guiding principles was 'It makes no sense to worry about things you have no control over because there's nothing you can do about them'. She lived her life trying to be present on the now, focusing on avoiding needless worry.
Among Vicki's proudest accomplishments was obtaining her master's degree in special education. Her diligence and resilience in achieving this feat embodies the dedication she applied to every aspect of her life. Her legacy is a legacy of kindness and grace; values she instilled in her children and in her students and lived by every day. History also played a major part in Vicki's life. Colorado history, especially, as well as, British.
Vicki loved her feline companions, her cat Mistie, her daughter's cat, Xander, and Vicki and Eve's newly adopted kitten, Skye. Their comforting presence brought her much joy and companionship.
A funeral service in honour of Vicki will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Drinkwine Family Mortuary. As we celebrate the life of Vicki, we continue to remember her kind spirit, warm heart, and the love she shared with everyone around her.
May her soul rest in peace. She will be sorely missed.
We ask that any memorials be made to Ursuline Academy in Dallas, Texas where Vicki attended high school as a teenager and where some of her fondest memories as a young girl occurred.
