Victoria's obituary
Vickie was born on January 30, 1962 to Anita Balagat and Joseph Valencia. Never knowing her biological father, she was legally adopted by the man she always considered her dad, Roy Morrell, at the age of two. She had a total of 13 siblings, but grew up with sisters- Camellia, Tracey, and Robin, and brothers- Benito, Kevin, and Ryan. On October 8, 1988, she married Randell Ethington in an intimate ceremony on Catalina Island. They had three daughters, Alyssa Anita, Mariah Nicole, and Kabrina Shea, and she became the step-mom to Travis Jay.
Vickie held an array of traditional male oriented jobs and side jobs, but she was most proud to say she was a mom and homemaker. She invested herself in her family and enjoyed being a part of Christian study and prayer groups. She was always helping strangers and others in need, often in secret. She was very protective of those she cared about and would come off intense at times, but it was because she loved fiercely and unconditionally. Her family cannot recall a single time she was selfish. She may have made mistakes, but everything she did was always with good intentions and because she cared. She strove to do right by her family and lived with Christ by her side, keeping her faith at the forefront during her journey here on earth.
Vickie was preceded in death by her mother Anita Balagat, father Roy Morrell, daughter Mariah Nicole Ethington, and cousin Nicole Balagat. She is survived by her husband Ran Ethington, daughters Alyssa Anita and Kabrina Shea Ethington, step-son Travis Jay Ethington, brothers Benito Valenzuela, Kevin Morrell, and Ryan Morrell, sisters Camellia Valenzuela, Tracey Morrell, and Robin Chavez, aunt Dorita Steele, and uncles Rudy and Richard Balagat, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
