Viki's obituary
Victoria “Viki” Diane Lester, age 79, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026 in Santa Cruz, California, just a few months before her 80th birthday. Born on April 28, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio, to Joseph and Victoria Lester, Viki lived in Santa Cruz for 45 years and stayed close to her children. She was an only child and her parents passed away when she was just 30 and 37 years old. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, and friend and she absolutely loved chatting with others whenever she had the chance. She was “bionic” having at least 14 surgeries within the last 20 years. She loved her jobs she had at Santa Cruz Ranch RV park and Quik Stop in Scotts Valley and absolutely loved the people she worked with and lived near as well as all of her customers that she got to know. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Stacee & Kevin Starkweather, her granddaughter Kayla Haney, her grandson Ryth Haney, and her grandcat Dali. She is preceded in death by her son Jason Westen.
Viki was a tiny little pistol who carried a very bright light. She loved and cherished all of her animals that she ever had, going on outings with her daughter, seeing the sunset, feeding the squirrels, and sitting outside talking to anyone that walked by brightening their day. She is forever greatly loved by her daughter, grandchildren, and close friends. We miss her terribly!
