Gloria's obituary

Gloria was born in Marabot, Samar, Philippines September 25, 1950, and passed at home in Silverdale Wa. February 25, 2022, of natural causes at age 71.

She was the daughter of Jose and Petronila Senal, and sister to predeceased brothers Seriaco Senal, and Alejo Senal. She was sister to predeceased Anastacia Senal, Pakonda S. Senal, Lebrada S. Asildo, Angeles S. Redona, Patrocenia Vinas Galangue, Nieves S. Gadaingan, Lourdes S. Edano, Sergia S. Galangue, Erlinda S. Borja, and survived by her sister Alicia S. Davis (Clifford Davis), Silverdale Wa, brothers-in-law Marvin and Charles Coon, Orem Ut.. She is also survived by her nieces Angela Coon, Crystal Coon, Alison Rodriquez, and nephew Chris Davis, along with numerous nieces and nephews from her family in the Philippines.

She was married to James William Coon on July 14, 1974, in Olongapo City, Philippines for 47 years, and immigrated to the United States the following year. She is the mother of son Eric James Coon, and Tina Lean Coon (Gene Cardall).

She is the Grandmother of Sully Hoover, Elyssa Brown, and Brandon Miles, and Great Grandmother of Eithyn Vansickle. 

Gloria began her life in the village of Marabot, on the island of Samar, near Tacloban City in the Philippines. During her early years she moved to Manila to work as a house maid, then on to Olongapo City. As the wife of a Navy veteran, she lived various places throughout her life, starting in Vallejo Ca., then to Bremerton Wa., San Diego Ca., Sandy Ut, Guam, Long Beach Ca, Novato Ca, Sioux Falls SD, Guymon Ok, and winding up in Silverdale Wa. where she passed in peace, at her home with her family.

She enjoyed taking drives, playing slot machines, and her favorite, playing Texas Hold Em at the local card room. She was generous, and gave of herself without a second thought. She helped several of her Nephews and Nieces get through school.

Gloria had a great sense of humor, and enjoyed having friends over. She loved serving them her native Filipino dishes, and they wouldn’t leave hungry. She was loved and adored by so many.

Gloria will be resting at home, with her husband. A memorial service will be held on April 6th, 2022, at the Holy Trinity Church in Bremerton Wa.
