June 30, 2003 - March 16, 2019
Monday night, 3/11/19, Victoria was found in bed unresponsive by her mother. When EMS arrived on scene she was not breathing nor did she have a pulse. EMS was able to get a faint pulse after working on her and then she was rushed to Trident Hospital. The prognosis from that point has never inspired much Faith but medically speaking Doctors did not have great expectations for Victoria. She was transferred early the following morning to MUSC Children's ICU. Her prognosis stayed the same there as well. Lack of oxygen when she wasn't breathing has done severe trauma to her brain that her body simply has been unable to reverse. She has fought all week but her reaction tests have gotten weaker and weaker as her brain continues to swell. Her family has been with her the whole time at her side. Her father refuses to allow her to be alone in her last moments in a short life. Victoria is currently in the hospital I.C.U. Final tests are underway to confirm brain death. The final verification should take place today 3/16/19 sometime around mid-day, she will more than likely be left on assisted breathing so that any viable organs will be able to be donated. It is with a heavy heart that I have to try and find the words to convey the importance of helping this cause. I am not normally a person that has a hard time finding words, yet, I find myself at a loss. I don't believe it is in our blood to normally ask for help in such matters, however, this is where we find ourselves. Victoria's imminent passing has put her family in a financial bind. As you can imagine this was both unplanned and unexpected. Having to bury your children is not something that you foresee. They are looking for help with or donations to go towards funeral costs so that they can bury her and give her a final resting place. Knowing Victoria's father personally and being a father myself I know this is a hard thing for him to ask. He would just like to be able to provide a final farewell for her, but between impending Hospital fees and loss of wages from being out of work to watch over her, resources are limited. If by chance you feel God or some other source sent you here to help this grieving family through dire times like these any and all help will be much appreciated. Prayer, advice, words of wisdom, or monetary giving would all go a long way.
