Vicki's obituary
Victoria Ann “Vicki” Broad, affectionately known as “Pocket Grandma” to her grandchildren, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 75. Surrounded by love and comfort in her final hours, Vicki left this world with the same warmth and joy that she brought every day of her life.
Born on November 6, 1949, in Lamar, Colorado, Vicki was the daughter of Paul Jones Hollandsworth and Nelly Vay Hollandsworth. She grew up alongside her beloved sisters Paula Joyce Hollandsworth, Lita Laverne Corbin, and Nita Vay Dean, all of whom preceded her in death. From an early age, Vicki’s vibrant personality and infectious laughter made her a light in the lives of those around her.
Vicki was best known for her outgoing and bubbly nature. Always ready with a joke or a warm smile, she had a unique ability to lift spirits wherever she went. Her love for coffee and donuts was legendary among those who knew her—simple pleasures that brought her immense joy and often served as the backdrop for countless conversations and shared laughs.
Standing just five feet tall, Vicki earned the endearing nickname “Pocket Grandma” from her grandchildren—a title she wore with pride. Her presence may have been petite in stature, but it was mighty in heart. She lived a life full of miracles and created a legacy rooted in love, humor, and resilience.
Vicki’s greatest joy came from her family. She is lovingly remembered by her eldest daughter Lisa Smith; middle daughter Kathi Stecklein; youngest son Brad Morlan; grandsons Timmy Urbanik, Ricky Stecklein, and Keith Smith; granddaughters Amber Stecklein, Alicia Atchison, Tori House, and Ashley Swenson; as well as seventeen great-grandchildren who will carry forward the memory of their cherished Pocket Grandma.
Though she has departed this world, Vicki’s spirit remains deeply woven into the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her laughter echoes in memories shared over coffee cups; her warmth lingers in every hug remembered; and her legacy lives on through generations touched by her boundless love.
May Victoria Ann “Vicki” Broad be forever remembered with smiles as bright as hers—and may her memory bring comfort to all who were lucky enough to know her.
