Victor's obituary
Victor Violante Godinez
December 23, 1969 – July 28, 2017
Victor lived life on his own terms—stubborn, restless, and entirely his own. He could be a pain in the ass, and his life was marked by struggle, addiction, and hard truths. He passed from an overdose, a reality that is part of his story.
He leaves behind his loving mother, Telmilda Ariza Pardo, who misses him dearly; his sisters, Marta Blackwell and Barbara Teigen; nieces and nephews; his best friend Manny, who was like a brother to him; and his cat, Caco. He was preceded in death by his father, Violante Godinez of Cuba.
Victor loved Cuban food—cooking it, eating it—and had a fondness for pretty women and living freely, for better or worse.
He was imperfect, but he was real. And he was loved.
