Victor's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Victor Taggart, who left this world on June 25th, 2025. Born on December 17, 1942, Vic graced those around him with his warmth, wit, and caring presence. His life was a testament to his deep commitment to his family, and he will be lovingly remembered for his humor and tender demeanor.

Vic is survived by his wife Linda, son, Nelson Taggart (Karyn), daughter Dora Mahan (Jack), and daughters Alicia Bolivar and Holly Kozlowski.  His commitment to kinship was evident in the quality time he spent with his family, and the many stories shared over meals, particularly those prepared by his beloved Linda. His zest for life was infectious, often bringing friends and family together for unforgettable Gourmet Club evenings with the Millers.

An admirer of historical non-fiction, Victor sought knowledge and understanding through the pages of countless books. His eclectic taste in music, ranging from the classical compositions of Bach to the rock-and-roll rhythms of Elvis, and his love for foreign city documentaries and Monty Python films, illustrated the breadth and depth of his interests.

Vic was an active man who enjoyed playing racquetball and cherished long walks with Linda. He took pleasure in attending live concerts and performances, particularly those featuring his talented grandchildren. His recreational activities, which included reading, traveling, and exploring Queen Anne, clearly a man who relished every opportunity to embrace the world around him.

Whether it was sipping coffee at Uptown Coffee, watching boats pass through Ballard Locks, or visiting the Seattle Center, Vic's appreciation for his local surroundings was unmistakable.  He and Linda were seasoned travelers who enjoyed exploring the world and engage with the people, food, sights, and sounds of over 50 destinations! He found solace in the peaceful shores of Newport Beach, immersed himself in the cultural vibrance of Zihuantanejo, and reveled in the timeless elegance of Paris.

Victor was a man of wisdom, often sharing humorous yet profound lessons such as "never get on a bus with a naked driver." Among his many accomplishments, his time as a Junior Pacific Olympian stood out. Alzheimer's took Vic from us 7 years before he left this earth.  He was introduced to his first great-grandson through his window at Bayview due to COVID.  The world kept spinning but Vic's time stopped long ago.  The caring staff of Dorothy's Place continue to hold a special place for the family.  Linda was able to be with Vic as well as his SIMMS friends at the end.  Vic's unwavering kindness and the value he placed on family will be his enduring legacy.

A Celebration of Life for Victor will be held on September 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM at The Swedish Club where we can honor and remember his remarkable life. Vic's light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts, his laughter will echo in our ears and his love will forever be our guide.
