Victor's obituary
Victor Jasper Rizzo was born November 29th, 1942 to Vito and Conssette Rizzo in Beaumont, Texas.
He met and married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Linda Kay Holster in their hometown of Port Lavaca, Texas. They recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on November 5th, 2025. Shortly after they married, they began their lives together with Victor joining the Air Force at the young age of 17. They left their small hometown to travel and live in different states and countries around the world. They had two beautiful children along the way, Michelle and Robert Rizzo who joined them on their journey throughout Vic’s time in the Air Force. They spent a little over a year in Guam and traveled to Japan and Hong Kong while awaiting a transfer back to the United States. They returned to the states and lived in San Marcos, Texas where Vic started his college career at Southwest Texas State University. They eventually settled in the Dallas Fort Worth area where Vic continued his college education, ending with a Doctorate of Philosophy from North Texas University. Education was a very important part of his life and he always encouraged others to further their education as well. He spent several years as a consultant for Western Oceanic. He returned to Academia and worked as a professor at Eastfield Community College and was the Vice President of El Centro Community College.
He retired to build a home in the East Mountains of New Mexico. He pursued a passion for art in the form of wood and stone sculpture. He and Linda traveled the U.S. attending art shows displaying his works of art. Vic was an avid Italian Chef and had a love for cooking. His other great passion was his RV. Vic and Linda had many happy travels all over the United States, including a very special trip to Washington D.C. with his granddaughters. He was an active member at Holy Cross Episcopal Church. He took pride in his faith and was an Administrative Officer and Treasurer of the Diocese of the Rio Grande.
Victor passed away in his home on November 26th, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. He was dearly loved by his friends and family. He will be missed by his loving wife Linda Rizzo, his daughter Michelle Rizzo, his daughter-in-law Ava Rizzo, his granddaughters Abigail Rizzo Roy and Moriah Rizzo, his grandson-in-law Hunter Roy, and great-grandchildren Emery Vincent and Hudson Roy.
