It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Victor Mendez, who left us on January 13, 2025. Born on August 20, 1949, Victor lived a life full of passion and dedication, leaving a significant mark on all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Victor is survived by his son, also named Victor Mendez, who was his pride and joy. He found immense pleasure in simple joys of life, especially in his favorite foods which included Chili rellenos and spicy fajitas. The zest of these dishes matching the zest he carried in his life.

Victor had a penchant for Oldies, music that both soothed his soul and uplifted his spirits. His favorite television shows were the classic Gunsmoke and the intriguing adventures of Dr. Pol, while his preferred film was the epic biblical drama, Ten Commandments. A true fan of American Football, he passionately supported the Rams Club.

Victor loved the open sea and one of his favorite recreational activities was boat fishing in the ocean. His love for his local community was evident in his frequent visits to the Storm Baseball games, a spot he held dear to his heart.

One of Victor’s most significant accomplishments was his successful career as a long haul truck driver, where he served diligently for over 35 years. He regarded his work not just as a means of earning, but as a passion that allowed him to connect with countless people and places over the years.

Victor's absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him, yet we are comforted by the enduring impact of his lively spirit, his love of life, and his unwavering devotion to his loved ones, traits that will continue to inspire us. May his soul find eternal rest.
