Victor's obituary

Victor Henri Joseph Boissoneault

Peacefully on December 3, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer and complications of diabetes, our beloved Victor passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones.

Victor was born on January 7, 1956 in Winnipeg. He spent most of his career working at Winnipeg Hydro (now Manitoba Hydro) and retired to a part time job driving a school bus.
Victor spent many weekends at Toniata beach (Falcon Lake) entertaining friends, family and anyone who wandered into the evening campfire. Victor and Louise managed to maintain his love for camping right up to this past summer. They could never pass up a garage sale or any good deal. He was usually the first one on the dance floor at any event and always walked out with more than one social prize. Victor touched everyone with his raw but keen sense of storytelling and humour with his ever-contagious laugh. He had such a big presence in any room and was usually the life of the party. In his younger days he and his best friend Glenn entered many golf tournaments, went on skiing trips and spent several hours fishing.

He was predeceased by his father Jules Boissoneault, mother Iona (nee Prevost) and step father Robert Martin. He is lovingly remembered by his ex-wife Melanie, children Joel (spouse Michelle, grandchildren Aria and Harlow ), and Karissa (partner Scott, grandchildren Donavin and Dawson), his partner for the last 7 years Louise Branconnier and her sons Jordan, Byron and Tyrone (Victor’s very special buddy) brother Mark (partner Robin, nephew Dan), sister Denise (spouse Blair, nieces Courtnie and Tessa), brother Denis (spouse Denise, nephews Raymond, Gilles, Roland, niece Lise), brother Marcel (spouse Gloria, nephews Daniel, Richard, David) Also left to cherish his memory are numerous other family members, co-workers and friends. He will be sadly missed by all those who loved him.

The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to the home care nurses and doctors who cared for him.

As per his wishes a small closed service for immediate family will take place Wednesday, December 11.
