Vicki's obituary
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Vicki "Auntie Vik" Wielgos, who departed from this world on September 15, 2024. Vicki was born on September 29, 1949, a day that introduced a beloved aunt, sister, wife, and friend to the world. Auntie Vik touched the lives of those around her through her kindness and her extraordinary organizational skills. She had a hearty laugh and a bright smile that could lighten even the darkest days. She never forgot a birthday, and for many of us, we looked forward to getting her cards in the mail.
Auntie Vik loved the simple pleasures of life. She had an affinity for sub sandwiches, grapes, and burgers. She enjoyed walking as a form of exercise and was a dedicated fan of Hallmark movies. Hawaii was her favorite vacation spot, a place she considered a paradise of tranquility. Above all, Auntie Vik held her family at the heart of everything she did, passionately cherishing each moment with them.
She always believed in accepting others as they are, a lesson she consistently demonstrated and imparted to those around her. This practice reflected the immense love and acceptance she showcased to everyone.
Vicki leaves behind her cherished husband, Tom Wielgos, and is survived by her niece, Chelsea Baker, her nephew, Joseph Baker, and her grandchildren: Elizabeth, Abbie, Jack, and Charlie. She also leaves behind her siblings Terril Carrier, Meri Beth Skaare, "Chip" Opsal, and Craig Opsal. Along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Eleanor Opsal, and her sister, Laurie Lynn Masteller.
Vicki Wielgos's absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will continue to echo through the lives she touched, reminding us all to embrace kindness and acceptance in our daily interactions. While we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the lasting legacy she leaves behind.
