Veronica “Bonnie” Lucas (Shepherd) of Lynn, formerly of Arlington, Virginia, passed away suddenly after a brief illness on Saturday, April 18, 2020. She was 56 years old.

Veronica was born in Lynn, Massachusetts on July 22, 1963, to the late John H. Shepherd (2001) and Dorothy A. Shepherd. In 1987, she married Loveninao “Luke” B. Lucas and together they had four children.

Veronica is survived by her four cherished daughters, Keri Green and husband Jerry of San Angelo, TX; Kelley Cruz and husband Kelly of Upper Malboro, MD; Amanda Philpott and husband Chris of El Paso, TX and Sarah Lucas of Arlington, VA; nine beloved grandchildren, Lilliana, Natalia, Jory, Julie, Faith, Caleb, Elijah, Greyson and Madeleine; mother, Dorothy Shepherd; brothers, Lawrence Shepherd (Diana) and Paul Shepherd; sisters, Lynn Barnard, Dorothy Welch and Jennifer Shepherd. Preceding her in death are brothers, Gordon Shepherd, Michael Shepherd and John Shepherd and sister, Mary Gillette.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Virginia to honor Veronica’s life and wishes.
