Vernon Reigh Ingram

Vernon Reigh Ingram, affectionately known as “Vern,” age 79, of Durham, North Carolina,

passed away on December 15, 2025. He was born on August 18, 1946, to the late Ida B.

Ingram and Franklin Louis Ingram.

Vern was a proud graduate of Hillside High School, Class of 1964. Following graduation, he

honorably served his country in the United States Military as a Paratrooper during the Vietnam

War, assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade.

He is survived by his loving sister, Shirley L. Wilson (Lawrence); his son, Vernon Thomas

Ingram; his daughter, Regina Ida Peterson (Carl); his grandchildren, Joye Christopher of

Lexington, KY, and Robin and Carlton Peterson of Orlando, FL; seven great-grandchildren;

and a host of nieces and nephews.

Vern was preceded in death by his three brothers, Phillip, George, and Walter Ingram.
