Vernon's obituary

Vernon Anthony Celestino D’Souza, 56, of Stockton, Ca, passed away on December 15th, 2021. Vernon was born on February 23rd, 1965 to Peter and Cleta D’Souza in Uganda, Africa. After graduating from Stagg High School in 1984, he went on to become a journeyman machinist. He continued his career as a licensed HVAC contractor serving Stockton, Ca for over 25 years. In 1983, he met the love of his life Gloria at a retreat and they wed on January 3rd, 1987. He and Gloria have 3 daughters, Stephanie (32), Angela (26), and Julianne (17). Vernon  was a man of Faith and put God first. He devoutly loved his wife. He was proud of his girls and loved being a grandpa to Lucia, Rocky and Jaxton. Vernon’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. He enjoyed cooking for his family and was a master of the grill. He took pride in his craftsmanship and appreciated all his customers. He enjoyed golfing and fishing with good company.  Vernon was always trying to grow in his Catholic faith and loved attending mass, conferences, and his men’s group. Anyone who knew Vernon knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Vernon was predeceased by his father Peter D’Souza and wife Gloria D’Souza. He is survived by his mother Cleta D’Souza, daughters Stephanie, Angela and Julianne, sisters Val Jarquin and Vanessa D’Souza, son in law Matthew Scully and grandchildren Lucia, Rocky, Jaxton, as well as 21 nieces and nephews.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Venmo @DSOUZAFAMILY 

There will be a Chaplet on Jan 2nd, 2022 at 3pm at the Saint Bernadettes Catholic Church. 

Funeral will  be on January 3rd, 2022 at 9am at the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
