Vernan's obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Vernan B. Guischard Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and cherished member of the community, who tragically left us on July 8th at the age of 68.

Born on February 15, 1957, in San Fernando, Trinidad, Vernan was the son of the late Vernan and Maureen Guischard. He was a man of deep faith, unwavering strength, and quiet integrity. His life was a reflection of love in action, evident in how he served, how he worked, and how fiercely he loved his family and all those around him.

Vernan is survived by his loving wife, Dianne, and four children: Keiron, Kendall, Kester, and Kyla. He was a proud grandfather of four, a caring brother to five sisters — Verina, Vallarine, Virgilia, Vernetta and Varlene  — and a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Through his wisdom, humor, and steadfast encouragement, he inspired others to become the best version of themselves.

A pillar in both his church and his community, Vernan faithfully served as a worship leader, uplifting spirits and hearts with his voice and presence. He was also a very respected entrepreneur and owner of Motor Care & Maintenance, a business he built on excellence, honesty, and care. Whether at church or work, Vernan’s character shined through in everything he did and left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

Those who knew him will remember his warm smile, his calming strength, and the courage he carried into everyday life. He was a man of principle — sometimes stern, often gentle but always rooted in love. His legacy lives on in the values he upheld, the lives he touched, and the examples he set.

We invite all who were touched by Vernan’s life to join us in honoring his legacy at a memorial service on Friday, July 18th at 1:30 pm AST/EDT at Curepe Pentecostal Empowerment Ministries International, located at the corner of Phillip and McDonnell Streets (#27 McDonnell Street, Curepe).  A livestream of the service will be available for those unable to attend in person; https://www.youtube.com/live/….

Vernan’s passing leaves a void that words cannot fill, but his memory lives on, in every song he sang, every hand he lifted in service, and every heart forever changed by his love.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23

We rejoice in knowing Vernan is now at peace, welcomed into eternal rest by the One he faithfully served.
