Mercer, Verna C.

On April 8th 2024, Verna peacefully entered into the kingdom of God, at home, in her bed, surrounded and adored by her family. Born November 30, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Verna was an avid reader, loved to crotchet blankets and clothing for her loved ones, and also really enjoyed being in the water. Her most important interest, however, were her grand children and great grand children and spending time with them. Loving mother of James Mercer, Caroline Laughlin (Terry), Vivian Ellis (Scott), Stephen Mercer (Sherri), Elizabeth Gilreath (Allen). Grandmother of Bradley Mercer, Danielle Volz, Allison Laughlin, Bridget Laughlin, Ashley Hanson, Joshua Ellis, Matthew Hicks, Jacob Hicks and Dylan Gilreath.  Great Grandmother of Mattix, Maizie, Gavin, Leighton, Cohen, Payton, Raegan, Ezekiel, Izabella and Ezra. Dear sister of Gale LaWarre and Julie Lazenby.  Also survived by many loving nieces and nephew.  Proceeded in death by her loving husband Donald Mercer, dearest son Matthew Mercer, beautiful mother Caroline Lantry, and father William Lantry.  Funeral services will be held April 19, 2024 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 3450 Lumardo Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45238. Visitation will be held at 9:30 am with a mass following at 10:30 am.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
