Vera's obituary

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Vera Jean Sawyer-Holloway, 70, who transitioned to her final resting place on May 24, 2024 in Atlanta, GA. Born February 3, 1954, Vera lived a life full of love and kindness with an unwavering compassion that touched the lives of countless people throughout her lifetime.

Vera was an extraordinary, courageous, God-fearing woman, affectionately known for her nurturing, charismatic, creative and motherly personality. Vera advocated for others to live life to the fullest and to treat others as they would wish to be treated. She truly embraced each day with an open heart and urged all around her to start living today. These are cherished lessons Vera passed on that will continue to inspire those blessed to have crossed her path.

Before pursuing her life's work as an experienced, licensed Mental Health Professional, Vera utilized her God-given talents as a dental hygienist. However, her greatest accomplishments in life were her beloved children, Erick and JaNeen, whom she regarded as her pride and joy. Despite Vera's numerous achievements, she always believed that her family was her true success.

Vera's legacy, a legacy of unconditional love, kindness, generosity, and encouragement, will live on through her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth "Bunnie" McLeary (Tom), her son, Erick Sawyer (Yasmine) and her daughter, JaNeen Molborn (Michael). Known as Nana to her grandchildren, Michael Jr., Gabrielle, Gabby, Grey, and Gigi, she will also be remembered fondly by her nieces, Deanna and Tiffanie, and her nephew, Thomas.

Vera was preceded in death by her loving parents, Leonard and Lillian. Her absence will be deeply felt by her family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege to know her.

The family warmly requests your continued prayers, colorful floral arrangements (Vera's favorite) or a love offering to assist them during this challenging time (https://everloved.com/life-of…)

We invite you to join us in celebrating the life of Vera Sawyer-Holloway, an unforgettable beacon of love and light.
