How you can help

Vera Mae Harvey is my long time friend and the mother of Monica and Nicholas Lotfi. On December 4, 2022 Vera became very sick and went to the hospital in an ambulance. It was discovered that her cancer had come back with a vengeance, inoperable and pushing on other organs in her abdomen. She was declared terminal at the end of December and was just yesterday moved into hospice care. Last week we thought we were bringing her home to care for but suddenly she began to shut down rapidly and it became apparent that she needed more care than we could manage at home. She was living in Temecula for the two months before she got sick. Her children would be hard pressed to afford her cremation and the moving and dispersing of her belongings. Vera does not have any life insurance or really any assets at all. It is my hope that friends and family and the larger human community will help Monica and Nicholas afford the expenses that will accrue upon her death. We never imagined that Vera would die at such a young age or that a recurring cancer would move so quickly once discovered. Vera’s children will be extremely grateful for the help.
