Background
Hi, my name is William Allen Davis, the oldest out of my grandmother's children. When I was young, my grandmother's goal in life was to ensure that everyone had a chance in their lives. So, my grandmother started multiple programs that really focused on providing the help that other families need.
In the late 80s drugs really hit hard and a lot of families suffered. People rather support their drug habit than feed, cloth their own kids. My grandmother saw the need that was very real, so started a program called "Grandmother's Against Drugs" in Portland Oregon. The programs she gave birth to helped gave many families hope. She was recognized for the selfless acts she had done. She appeared in the newspapers and won "The Jefferson Award" in the 80's. But she didn't do it for the recognition she knew there was a serious need and She did what God wanted Her to do.
On November 10, 1987 she died from a massive heart attack. And She passed away my family didn't know how to coup with the loss, so they turned to drugs that was the only way they could survive. At the time of her passing everything in Her home's was sold and People broke in her offices and stole everything. Since she didn't care about self, all her time went the community. At her funeral we didn't have enough money to provide her with the headstone She deserves. So now I feel like I'm on borrowed time and I really want to give my grandmother the recognition a woman of her caliber deserves. So I'm asking for help with this situation, so please take the time and give to a woman who gave her life for everyone else. Thank you for your time and help.
We want to give Vera a beautiful sendoff. The total cost of the funeral was quoted at $[ 10,000 ], and we're struggling to come up with the money we need to pay for it. In lieu of flowers, we'd be very grateful for any donations you're able to make to the family to help. Contribute
