Vee's obituary
Veora Rose Johnson was born early in the morning of December 23, 1924 in Nisland, South Dakota. She lived a long valiant life and then passed in the evening, October 16, 2024 in American Fork, Utah.
Vee lived a life of positivity, warmth, always caring about and gathering people together. When you were hugged by Vee you knew you were loved. There are many things that could be said about her accomplishments, but she would want to be remembered for the love she gave to friends and family, and the respect she gave to everyone.
She wed William James Bliss on Feb 14, 1947 and they had 8 children together. Their children are Leslie Trosper, Lynette (Ray) Weber, Jimmy (deceased), Susan (Bill) Nietfeld, Karen (deceased), William (Ruth), Brock (Carmen), and Becky Bliss. She had 26 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
Bill passed away in 1984 from cancer. After a few years traveling with friends and family Veora reconnected with Herbert Baldwin from school days in South Dakota. They married in 1992. After 23 years together, creating connections with his children and their grandchildren Herb passed in 2015.
Veora then moved to Utah where she and her oldest daughter bought a house in American Fork until her death October 16, 2024 from kidney failure.
She was a strong woman, determined, stubborn and not a complainer. She was wise, frugal, experienced, disciplined, entrepreneurial minded and a leader. She was a patriot, servant, "Rosie The Riveter", hard worker, unafraid, pioneer and adventurous. She was a Mother, Wife, Sister, Cousin, friend and Grandma. She loved God, her Savior, her family and her country. She was a world traveler, card shark, comedian, and go getter.
Veora donated her body to University of Utah Body Donor Program.
Donations can be made to that program or CNS Community Nursing Services Hospice program who lovingly cared for her in the last year of her life.
