Vanessa's obituary
Vanessa Jade Ybarbo, age 40 of Victoria, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. She was born on October 11, 1985 to Lonnie Ybarbo and Judy Garza Ybarbo in Victoria, Texas. While Vanessa spent the majority of her life in Victoria, she moved to Austin during her Jr. high years. That’s where she found and fell in love with softball. She was a fierce 1st baseman and never let any ball pass her by. She played for Akins High School and went on to graduate in 2004. She attended UTSA in San Antonio, Texas.
Vanessa was devoted to her faith, her family, and her Dallas Cowboys. She loved loudly (very loudly) and proudly. Her greatest accomplishment in life was being a mother to Isabella, who was her best friend, and Jaxson, who left us too soon. She lit up any room she walked into, and her laughter could be heard for miles. She was always the life of the party. To know Vanessa was to love her.
Vanessa was preceded in death by her son Jaxson Leo Lopez, her aunt Deborah J. Garza, her grandparents Abel Garza, Dora Hernandez Garza, Victor Ybarbo, Sr., Sophie Ybarbo, and Juan M. Rios, Sr.
She is survived by her daughter Isabella Lopez; her parents Judy Garza Ybarbo and Lonnie and Linda Ybarbo; her grandmother Frances Rios; her siblings Sara Ybarbo, Bianca Zambrano (John Robert), Oscar Gaona, Jennifer Gaona, and 10 nieces and nephews who adored their “Tia Vanessa”.
