Vanessa Ann Thomas obituary

Vanessa Thomas of Alachua, Florida went peacefully to be with the Lord July 22, 2021. Vanessa had a kind and caring spirit. Vanessa was born on May 31, 1960 to Al and Wilma Schaufel. Vanessa graduated from Grayslake High School and went to Florida College where she met Douglas Thomas and a 38 year romance began. Doug and Vanessa were married on September 3, 1982 in Gurnee, IL.

Vanessa was a Christian, serving her Lord daily and attended Santa Fe Hills church of Christ.
Vanessa loved to sing. She sang Alto with the Symphonia group. She also loved to sing along with Captain and Tenille or Karen Carpenter.
Vanessa was preceded in death by parents and her brother David.
Vanessa is survived by her brother William (Ginny) Schaufel, Barbara (Scott) Breest, Stanley Schaufel, Thomas Schaufel, Karen (Bill) Barhyte, Jeff (Lynn) Schaufel, Jim (Denise) Schaufel, and Mary (Lonnie) Garrison.
Four children Paul (Alice) Thomas of Pekin IL, Melissa Thomas, Greg Thomas, and Jeff Thomas of Alachua FL and four grandchildren James, Anna, Joshua, and Abigail.
