Vaman's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Vaman Shenoy, who left for his heavenly abode on May 14, 2025. He was 89 and fought courageous battle with issues related to his liver. Born on August 22, 1936, in Arkal, Karnataka, India, Vaman dedicated his life to service and family and was a larger than life figure in the community and touched all that knew him.
Vaman built a distinguished career as a Civil Engineer building bridges on rivers in rural India. Using his entrepreneurship, ingenuity and problem solving, he tackled bridge building challenges in remote locations. He frequently travelled to support initiatives in his hometown of Arkal, where he had fond memories growing up. His commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his loved ones. In his later years, he relocated to California, where he cherished time close to his family, enjoying quiet moments and warm gatherings.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Savita; his devoted sons, Ravi and Chandu along with their wives Marcia and Kirthi; and adored grandsons, Sunil, Nicholas, and Ajay, They, along with his younger siblings Ratna(Baby-akka) and Mohan and the extended Arkal family will carry forward his memory with love and gratitude.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Sunday, May 18, at Lambert Funeral Home, located at 400 Douglas Blvd, Roseville, CA 95678, where close family will gather to honor him in the Hindu tradition.
Vaman Shenoy’s wisdom, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his family and work leave behind a legacy that will be forever cherished.
