It was with great sadness that I learned of Val Tiffee’s recent passing.
My partner and I moved to DBR in 2004 and were close friends with Val and her partner Debby Boom, for a number of years.
Val served DBR’s leaseholders as Treasurer on the Board of Directors and as the office manager. We happily ushered in the arrival of our Norwester Park Models, and celebrated the completion construction of our decks and living rooms. We were certain in those years that we had settled into our retirement homes and would live the rest of our lives as friends at DBR. Val and I cooked breakfasts for the community at Radcliffe Hall, held BBQ’s at the Ramada, and often enjoyed dinners in each other’s homes. Val was a excellent cook and a wonderful baker.
During the winter, we had season tickets to live theater in Sequim and Port Angeles. But life doesn’t always turn out as we think it will. So, we put those dreams away and take different paths. Diabetes can ravage your health. I believe that Val has been restored to her best health in everlasting life. My sincere condolences to Val’s wife, Sharon Tyner-Tiffee.
I remember first meeting Val many years ago when Jean & I would go to DBR in the summers. She was always so friendly towards us. She always had time to stop and speak with us. She will be so missed here at SMR. Her and Sharon were such a loving couple. R.I.P. Val.
