OBITUARY OF VALERIE MORTON

Valerie (Val) Morton 66 of Kill Devil Hills, NC passed away at John Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, MD on March 6 2025. Val was the wife of Scott Morton and daughter of the late Donna Reed and father Ken Reed of Danville, PA, Sister Kimberly Braadt of Allentown, PA, step son Curt Morton of VA, his partner Michelle Betoni and granddaughter Riley Morton. Val also kept her toy poodle Skupper by her side for the past 17 years and “Skupper” is now with Val enjoying their time together on another beach.

Val is known for her kind and happy personality who was up for any adventure. Val loved to travel the world with her husband Scott. When not traveling, Val loved to kayak on the Albemarle Sound in her back yard or vacation in Florida for a winter break, Lake Placid to cross country ski or the Jersey Shore, well.. just because. Val taught water aerobics , attended Zumba classes, became a level 4 Healing Touch practitioner, was a member of the women's club and the book club. Val touched the hearts of everyone she met and had a heart so full of generosity that she made those around her feel truly loved. She never met a stranger, only people who were her newest friends.

Val graduated from Danville High School, received her Bachelors Degree from Kutztown University and her Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology from West Chester. Val was employed by the Allentown Intermediate Unit in Allentown, PA. She had retired in 2013.

A celebration of Life is planned for May 8th in Allentown, PA and late June, in Kill Devil Hills, NC. In lieu of flowers or cards, Donations can be made to the Sjogrens’s Foundation on-line.
