Valerie's obituary

A beautiful journey & life has came to an end.

The biggest most beautiful heart stopped beating & Valerie went to her heavenly home after a long brave battle.

Valerie was born October 23rd 1945 to Allene & Vern Sanford in Bakersfield California. She grew up in Hillsdale Michigan.

Although she loved to travel she settled in Anderson Indiana in the 60’s.

She was passionate about her family. She loved hosting holidays & her door was always open for many generations.

She was an incredible interior designer for many years. She chose to become a corporate secretary for E & B paving where she proudly retired in 2009.

She loved spending time with her family, photography, bingo, reading, & her cats.

She is survived by her friend & the love of her life for over 60 years Doyle.

Her son Patrick & his wife Elyse.

Her granddaughters Ashley (Jeff), Courtney (Brandon), Alaina, Karson (Nick), Kendall, & grandson Kamden.

Her great grandchildren Lina, Draven, Augustus, & Hallie.

Brothers Vern Allen (Rhonda) & John.

Nieces & Nephews Heather, Tiffany, Sean, Grant, Ashley, Tarri, Rusty, Jared, Allene, Jason, Nicole, & Cheri.

As well as her long term devoted Caregiver Brianna Brewer, her beloved cat Endora, Along with so many family & friends who will miss her.

Valerie was met by many loved ones that preceded her in passing. Her nephew Vincent, her best friend & Sister Carol Lee, her father, her nephew Aaron, beloved mom Allene Colville, & her daughter Kimberlee Allene just to name a few.

Her family would like to thank the staff from Heaven Sent, Community Hospice, as well as the many generations of family & friends whose lives she touched.

We have chosen to have a celebration of life & her 80th birthday this fall on 10/25/25 at The Veterans Club Of Madison County.
