Valarie's obituary

Valarie was born in Montgomery, Alabama to David and Effie Simelton on April 4, 1959, the oldest of four children (Daddy’s Girl). She attended and graduated from East Aurora High School in Aurora, Illinois.

Valarie began her career working for Gallagher Bassett Services Inc. in Schamburg, IL for many years as a claims adjuster. Valarie was a proud member of Progressive Baptist Church in Aurora as well as sang in the mass choir as an alto. Valarie moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2000 where she then began working in the medical field at the Community Medical Center in Palmetto, Georgia. . Valarie received her Associates Degree from Georgia Medical Institute as a Certified Medical Assistant and later joined Georgia Urology where she worked for 16 years. At Georgia Urology, Valarie dedicated herself to the care and well-being of her patients. Her kindness, empathy, and expertise were invaluable to those she treated, and she tirelessly worked to make a difference in their lives. Her commitment to providing exceptional healthcare will be remembered and appreciated by all who she encountered with.

Valarie was a faithful and devoted member of Woods Memorial Baptist Church for 23 years. She loved singing in the choir where she then sang in the tenor section. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids & close friends, traveling, watching Lifetime movies, Andy Griffith, Law & Order SVU and her daughters cooking. Valarie was BEST known for giving the best & tightest hugs.

In every aspect of her life, Valarie Simelton exemplified warmth, compassion and a loving personality. Her selflessness, kindness, and love left an indelible mark on all those who were fortunate enough to know her. Valarie's passing leaves a profound void, but her legacy will continue to live through those she left behind.

Valarie entered eternal rest early August 20, 2023 at her home. She leaves to cherish her memory: son: Doyle Robinson & daughter: Felicia Simelton-Meeks, father: David Simelton (Carol), mother: Effie Simelton, four brothers: Michael (LaTonya), Orlando (Charlene), Gary (LaTonya), and Vincent (Cowanda), grandsons: Braylan Tandy, Derrick Simelton-Meeks, and Danny L. Friend III and a host of Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
