Vail's obituary

Vail Silva, 38, passed away in Denver, Colorado, on February 15, 2026. She was a devoted mother, a cherished daughter, a beloved sister, a proud aunt, a loyal friend, and so much more to all who knew her.

Vail leaves behind her three children—Jordan, Lynley, and Kennedy—who were the center of her world. She poured her heart into motherhood, finding her greatest joy in nurturing her children and watching them grow. They now spend more time with their fathers, Matt and Ryan, whose continued commitment to keeping the children close as siblings is a testament to Vail’s ability to bring people together.

She is deeply missed by her parents—Sandy, Andy, and stepmother Tillie—who mourn the loss of their youngest daughter. Her sister Stacey, with her husband Stephen and their children Angel, Brooke, and Allison, as well as her nephew Gabe, feel the weight of her absence every day. Her oldest sister Melissa and her family grieve the moments they wish they had more time to share with her. Vail is preceded in death by her brother, James.

Born and raised in Colorado, Vail embraced life with a full heart and an unmistakable sense of style. She was known for always having the coolest nails, a love for zebra print, and an eye for fashion trends long before they hit the mainstream. She was the cool mom and the fun aunt, staying up to date on music, culture, and everything that made the younger generation feel understood.

Her quick humor, honest quips, and unwavering authenticity made others feel seen and safe to be themselves. She paid attention to the small details in life and had a gift for turning simple gestures into grand moments of kindness that stayed with people and made them feel special.

Vail built connections everywhere she went. She lived boldly, loved deeply, and touched countless lives with her warmth and humor. Her absence leaves an ache that words cannot fully capture, but her spirit will continue to live on in the people she loved and the many lives she brightened. As we remember her we are reminded that often times people move with struggles we cannot see. May we learn to pause, ask and care when we notice changes in behaviors. Compassion is not weakness, and curiosity is a form of love. When someone withdraws, or changes in ways we don’t expect, may we respond with care and let us learn to see one another fully, gently, and with open hearts. Hold space for one another in your heart and in your day.
