Uwe's obituary
Born in Hamburg, Germany, came to the United States when he was 8 years old. At age 18, he fell in love with the love of his life Frances Krueger. They were married for 59 years and 11 months. He leaves behind his son Eric with wife Melody, daughter Brianna. His daughter Windy and her sons Michael and Carl. His son Jason with wife Mary. Granddaughter Ashley and husband Wade. Grandson Matthew with wife Brandi and great grandson Logan. His son Kyle with wife Heidi and granddaughters Sadie and Madison.
Uwe was a big part of the community. As his kids were growing up in the town of Lagrange, he coached local Millbrook Little League and local hockey teams. He was a mentor to some, coach to some and a friend to many neighborhood kids. Uwe was a mechanic for 29 years before changing careers and going into business for himself. Uwe and Fran were the owner of The Fishmarket for over 25 years in Poughkeepsie, New York. He had a gift of talking. He was a born salesman. He could sell ice to an Eskimo. He was a member of the Elks Club #275 where he had many friends. He loved to go deep sea fishing and playing golf with his boys. He was also known to play a good hand of poker every once in a while.
Uwe and Fran moved to Missouri in 2005, where they built their retirement home on top of a hill with a spectacular view.
