Ursula's obituary

Ursula “Ursi or Uschi” Endress (née Wagner) died in her home on February 6, 2020 in Charleston, SC due to natural causes. She was 77.

Ms. Endress was born on June 8, 1942 in Fohren-Trier, Germany to her parents, Niklaus and Eva Wagner. She completed her education abroad before marrying Kurt A. Endress from Lorrach, Germany in 1960, then emigrating to the USA. Ursula spent most of her life working or volunteering in support roles and caregiving positions. She dedicated strong support to the early family business, loved taking care of people and found her heart’s passion in spending time with the elderly and animals. Ms. Endress survived a brain aneurysm and stroke in 2001, but never gave up on volunteering and donating to those in need to the best of her abilities.

Ms. Endress became a very passionate and proud American citizen, sharing the tales of her younger days in Germany and how she made it to the United States. She often suggested that those American born never forget, or take advantage of their privileges and great fortunes, and that hard work would always be rewarded in the end. Throughout Ursula’s journeys across the globe, she always carried the love for both of her countries deep within her heart and proudly on her sleeves.

Ms. Endress is survived by her son, primary caretaker and daily companion, Richard W. Endress, and her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Robert Arthur of Salisbury, NC.

Ursula is preceded in death by her first husband, Kurt, with whom her daughter and son were born; and her two older brothers, Erwin Wagner and Michael Wagner, both of Germany. She is also preceded in death by her second husband, Richard J. Lesser, and her fur-soulmate Maltese, Miss Blossom.

Private arrangements are being made for family at this time. A public South Carolina beach Celebration of Life will be organized for early June. Additional announcements will be posted online.
