When I think of Urmiben, she's always smiling and enjoying the present moment. She always showered us with so much love. I will always remember her big heart, her wisdom, and her ability to accept and appreciate everyone around her. Urmiben was so supportive and understanding. I feel so fortunate to have had someone so special in our lives. My heart is heavy and I will miss her, but I will always have beautiful memories of Urmi with me.

Rahul, I am so sorry for your loss.  The pictures and memories being shared are so touching and beautiful.   Clearly, she was an amazing wife, sister, sister in law, aunt, cousin,  friend.  I hope your precious memories of her will bring some comfort to your family during this challenging time. Urmi foi was kind, cheerful and loving. Her ability to communicate and connect with people, regardless of their age, was phenomenal. I always referred to her as a cousin rather than “foi” because she was too cool to be an aunt. She was certainly a role model to me as I was growing up. Her trips to India were some of the highlights of my childhood. I am going to miss you, Urmi foi.

It is difficult to put into words the gap left by someone who had such a large presence in our hearts. My first memories of Urmiben are those when I met her as a bride-to-be and she welcomed me into the family with her soft laugh and inviting way. She created a special space for me to fit into like a puzzle piece; she helped me feel beautiful and valued. Her ability to listen and talk in a way that invited thoughtful conversation is something I carry with me. Her willingness to accept others without judgment is something I am blessed to have learned from her. Urmiben always showed up, took a seat at the table and was there for the highs and the lows. I find her to be the most beautiful juxtaposition- a tiny package that was bursting at the seams with immeasurable love and dedication to the world around her. I am so grateful to have been there for a part of her journey and I will miss her to the very depths of my heart.
