Tyson's obituary

Tyson "Ty, Tycore" Fairbanks, born in 1972, passed away on the 4th of August 2023. He was known to many as Ty or Tycore, but most affectionately referred to himself as Tyson. A man of undeniable presence, Tyson's legacy will live on through his children and the many lives he touched.

He leaves behind his ex-wife, Lisa Ducharme, his daughters Sofia Fairbanks, Isabella Fairbanks. As well as daughter Asa Butcher and his son Aticux Fairbanks and their mother Kyla Butcher. He is survived by his brothers Todd (Jessica) Fairbanks and George (Heather) Fairbanks, and his father Paul Fairbanks. Tyson was predeceased by his step-father, Casey (Deb) Brantner, his mother, Deb Brantner, and his father, Robert Seivertson.

Tyson enlisted in the Navy in 1991, embarked on a new chapter of his life when he married Lisa (Habel)Ducharme in 2004 and became a father in 2005. Tyson moved to Texas in 2006 and welcomed another child the following year. The family eventually moved to Minnesota in 2015 where he renewed his wedding vows in 2016. Despite a divorce in 2018, his family circle expanded when he met Kyla and with the arrival of their children in 2020 and 2021.

Tyson's life was full of color, diversity, and an appreciation for simple pleasures. He savored Coors Light, Diet Coke, Dr Pepper Freeze, and Pina Coladas, and as a youth lost himself in books by Louis Lamour and rerold stories of his youth that surpassed any adventure of Huck Finn or Tom Sawyer.   His musical tastes were varied, including Slipnot, Toadies (Possum Kingdom), Static X, Yellawolf, In this Moment, and Jellyroll. He enjoyed Boardwalk Empire, Yellowstone, NCIS, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Big Brother/Survivor, and the History Channel, always cheering for his favorite teams - the Avalanche, Texas Rangers, MN Twins, Vikings, Fighting Sioux Hockey, and NDSU Bison Football.

Tyson found joy in playing Frisbee Golf, Ghost Recon, Texas Holdem, Yahtzee, and in tinkering in his garage. He sought relaxation in binge-watching series, riding his bike, and vacationing (in Hawaii.) He simply loved the color red, reflecting his personality - blunt, easy-going, quiet, and observant.

Tyson shared two significant life lessons with those around him: "We all start from fucked" and "Fuck around and find out." His greatest accomplishment was his children, and he firmly believed that they would be his legacy. He had proclaimed upon their first meeting to Lisa that his legacy would be his kids, and indeed, they are.

Tyson will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His spirit, laughter, and unique wisdom will continue to live on in the hearts of many.
