Tee's obituary
On July 17, 2025, Tyrone “Tee” David McFarlane's pain was released. His presence will forever be missed.
Tee touched each of our lives in a very special way. He handled his entire life journey with incredible grace and equanimity, and was surrounded by loved ones as he reached his sunset. He once wrote "Death's gotta be easy, for life is hard," encompassing his unique way of finding the silver lining in even the most challenging circumstances.
Since his birth on May 20, 1983 in Brooklyn, NY, Tee was the embodiment of strength. Knowing Tee meant loving him, respecting him, and recognizing him for more than what he was facing; his powerful presence couldn’t allow for otherwise.
He was a force - strong, resilient, charismatic, and somehow always able to show up for the people he loved no matter what. He was curious, cerebral, and open-minded, talking to anyone about anything and picking their brains simply for the joy of learning through exchange.
He loved life. Not just the big moments like taking a major vacation (which he did plenty of), but also the simple ones. Sitting at a cafe. Reading a book. People watching. Honing his photography skills. Writing in one of his many notebooks with a special pen. Sending postcards. Enjoying a good meal and an even better dessert. Watching the sunrise and finding rainbows. Silently savoring the ocean waves. Listening to one of his many vinyls. Spending time with those he loved. In his words, “My joys are simple and basic.”
He was distinctive. You’ll never meet anyone like him. No one who thought like him, loved like him, conducted oneself like him. He was nothing if not truly one of a kind.
He wanted his loved ones to celebrate his life the way he did - with no regrets. To celebrate that he was able to do all he did, see all he saw, and love everyone he loved for as long as he did. He continuously defied odds and stayed strong to gift us all with his presence.
Keep him in your hearts always. See him in every sunrise, take his memory with you on vacations, and celebrate him even in the simplest of moments.
